Who exactly even is Vasili?
The artist formerly known as Billy Malkotsis (est. 1995) was once destined to be a BMX stuntman. He used pursuit of an Engineering-Physics degree to justify moving from NY to UC San Diego at the age of 18, but a freak accident that year left him no longer physically able to compete professionally in the action sports world. Missing so much class time and wanting to graduate with his freshman peers, switching majors to Economics was his best response to a new reality. Having graduated with no nepotism in the financial sector, Vasili looked simply at economics to determine his next move: manipulation of raw materials. This culminated with yearning for the unobtainable luxuries he knew existed. Realizing then that precious metal smithing was not impossible, it finally dawned on him to control the means of production in an area of passion, and that art school probably would've been a better choice. So after self-learning how to weave chains by hand like his Greek ancestors, attending Studio Jewelers' Trade School in Manhattan became Vasili's solace.
That's how Vasili became a jewelry designer, and today he proudly makes pieces for his friends' businesses in:
BMX
bespoke fashion
streetwear
cannabis
mineralogy
along with fine & custom projects for private clients.
